Acknowledging the escalating demand for floral commodities during this cherished occasion, the company has significantly augmented its transportation capacity, presenting a flexible array of services meticulously tailored to meet the diverse requirements of its clientele. Demonstrating unwavering dedication, the LATAM group orchestrated over 400 frequencies to facilitate the shipment of approximately 552 million flowers to various destinations worldwide, encompassing South America, Europe, Australia, and the United States, with Miami emerging as the primary point of arrival, witnessing 370 landings throughout the season.

Claudio Torres Faini, the Commercial Director of South America at LATAM Cargo Chile, underscored the significance of this milestone, stating, “The growth witnessed this season underscores the faith reposed in us by our esteemed patrons, coupled with our steadfast commitment to addressing their evolving needs and those of the floriculture sector. With over 300,000 livelihoods sustained by floriculture in Colombia and Ecuador, we shoulder the immense responsibility of ensuring the seamless transportation of their blooms to global destinations under optimal conditions. Our overarching objective is to ensure that every recipient of these flowers experiences their pristine freshness, akin to being freshly harvested from the very farms where they originated.”

On the Colombian front, a staggering 13,000 tons of flowers were ferried aboard 222 flights departing from Bogotá and Medellín, encompassing a rich assortment of floral varieties such as roses, carnations, and chrysanthemums. Noteworthy is the fact that in the preceding year, the LATAM group facilitated the transportation of 40% of all flowers exported from Colombia to North America, setting a high bar for the ensuing seasons, which is anticipated to be upheld based on the resounding success achieved during this campaign.

Simultaneously, in Ecuador, the cargo operators nearly doubled the volume of flowers transported compared to the corresponding period of the prior year. Over 189 departures from Quito, close to 11,000 tons of flowers, predominantly comprising Ecuadorian roses, were exported, reflecting the robust growth trajectory witnessed in this segment.

The unwavering commitment of the LATAM group to collaborate closely with its clientele, suppliers, and airport stakeholders to explore innovative solutions that ensure optimal service and care for this delicate commodity has propelled the company to ascend as a prominent player in the floriculture domain in both countries, solidifying its reputation as a dependable and trusted partner for its discerning clientele.
